Four Features Every Property Site Should Have

by Tyler P. A Passionate Blogger - Entertainment
It’s important that top real estate agents have an online presence. But before you jump into a ‘do-it-yourself’ template, remember that this is the interface and introduction clients will come across first. Their impression of you and your business will be created by their experience on the website so it is worth spending a little more money to have it done right by a professional design team who knows the industry.  This ensures that it will have the tools and resources you need to conduct business in the office and on the road, as well as what customers are looking for.

The right firm will design a realtor website that contains agent contact information, access to property listings which includes pictures and details about each home, helpful blogs for buyers and sellers, and a mortgage calculator so individuals can play with numbers for payment. These are basic features on the interface to help clients have a positive experience by finding the information they need, ‘shop’ when it is convenient for them to see what is available on the market, and read useful tips about the process.  While this is a great start, the best system will have a back-end portal for agents to help them communicate with clients, schedule appointments and send mass marketing emails (or texts) to keep buyers and sellers aware of changes and new listings.

Once you have a list of what should be on the site the next feature is confirming that the real estate websites designer will build it to be device - friendly. This means that the website is easy to use whether it is being viewed on a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone which are the most popular devices used to check listings, find a number or read an article. The majority of online traffic will come from those who jump onto their smart phone while they are driving around or curious about what the market currently has to offer.

The experience should be seamless no matter what electronic device is in their hand because it makes an impression about the professionalism and ability of an agent having the right tools. This should not come with additional fees but should be part of the basic package that any agent can purchase for their start-up business. Lastly, a quality build and a stunning visual layout are important but so are the words on the screen so make sure that you are involved in what gets displayed on your site.  Some designers may provide a template as a starting point and the client can customize it with their own personal information and verbiage but it should always be professional and grammatically correct.

An agent’s online website is just as important as a physical office, if not more so because it can reach a wider audience and is available 24/7. Take time to work with a professional design team, ask questions and make sure you know what is included in their packages and pricing so you can get the most for your budget.
