Extract Water Quickly With a Shallow Well Pump

by Mog Lix Shop Online for Industrial Tools, Safety Equipment
Widely applicable for pumping water from wells or reservoirs, this shallow well pump is one of the most common types of pumps. It is mounted above the well either in the homes or in the well house to draw water through suction. This pump can be compared with a long straw in which a vacuum is created on sucking. The weight of the air pushes the water up the straw once the vacuum is there. The height till which you can live in the water with this pump relates to the weight of the air. Powered by an electric motor which drives an impeller, this pump causes the speed of the moving water to increase like a nozzle on a garden hose. These pumps generally need to be primed-filled with water before starting the work.

Benefits of Using a Shallow Well Pump

The main advantage of a shallow well pump is its design. This tightly contained unit with watertight gaskets and seals keep the liquid out of the housing and internal components preventing short circuit. This type of pumps functions very efficiently and effectively. It uses a direct pressure through the pope or hose to get the fluid out. This method is more effective than suction method as it covers more distance. It is a self-primed pump and placing this device inside the liquid makes it more efficient. This pump is easy to use and handle. Widely applicable from small-scale to large-scale industries, this shallow well pump is known for its durability, rust-resistance, and high performance. This pump can be offset from the well and requires less maintenance. It can even be used for wells with smaller diameters.

Priming of a Shallow Well Pump

For priming this shallow well pump, first, you need to fill the suction line and pump casing with water. Then close the pump control valve. You need to leave the priming pump slightly loose and start the pump. When the air stops bubbling out around the priming plug, you can stop the pump. Now refill the borewell pump casing with water and replace priming plug loosely. Start the pump. Water will flow continuously around the priming plug when the pump is fully primed. Now tighten the priming plug and open the pump control valve. It is necessary to precharge the pressure tank after the pump has been primed.
