by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

The United States of America, also called the United States or the US, gives its visitors a variety of experiences. It has redwood forests, beaches, snow-capped peaks, charming cities, elegant restaurants, and many other delightful offerings. This country is home to many different cultures, traditions, and ethnic groups. You'll find an excellent cultural mix in this part of the world, which has resulted mainly owing to the immigrations of people from various countries of the world. During your time spent in the US, you'll get the chance to explore its popular attractions.

Your US holidays would give you some memorable moments upon visiting Niagara Falls, which is among the world's most famous waterfalls. They are situated along the border of Canada and the United States of America. These waterfalls are created by waters from Lake Erie flowing into the Ontario Lake. In the winter season, the amount of water is reduced when a larger quantity of water from the waterfalls is used to produce hydroelectricity. These waterfalls are a combination of three falls and the largest among them is Horseshoe Falls. The second falls located on the American side is called the American Falls and a thinner section of falls next to it is known as Bridal Veil Falls.

Another globally renowned attraction in the US is Grand Canyon, which has been carved out by the Colorado River and is home to some dramatic ledges and cliff walls. The canyon cuts deep into the landscape and you can see down to its floor upon standing on the rim. Most of the tourists visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park with the help of a regular bus service. You can get a different perspective of the canyon by visiting the North Rim. However, this area of the park has limited access during winters from November to May owing to snow and freezing temperatures.

Holidays in this country would never be considered complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty. It is the most famous icon of the United States and among the world's largest statues. Located in New York Harbour, this statue has a height of about 152 feet and can be witnessed from several points in New York City. One of these points is Battery Park. You can also take a ferry to the statue and explore it from the ground, the pedestal, or the crown by purchasing tickets for any of these sections. It is advisable to make your bookings well in advance to avoid the long queues.

Yellowstone National Park is yet another popular attraction you can get to explore while holidaying in this country. It houses a big ancient volcano, which was responsible for creating the most dramatic landscapes of this park. Along the Yellowstone River are some hot springs and natural geysers, which attract plenty of tourists every year. This national park is among the oldest parks in the US and provides safe environs for different species of wild animals, such as the bison, black bears, and bighorn sheep.
