Everything to know about the Medical Oxygen Gas plants

Onsite Oxygen generator plant that uses Pressure Swing Adsorption technology to develop and design oxygen and nitrogen-solutions. Medox Series uses air to create oxygen and nitrogen directly at the place of need.

Medical oxygen plants are known as the providers of continuous oxygen for medical purposes which can be trustworthy and reliable. They can carefully meet the need and demand of a hospital. These generators can use compressed air at the site itself.

Various medical O2 plants setup in India like Compare Gas Systems offer onsite O2 plants as well as gas generators to get the compressed air on-site. The article will briefly discuss the importance of medical oxygen gas plants and how they are better than air cylinders for a hospital. Let us read about medical oxygen gas plants in the article below.

What is a Medical Oxygen gas plant?

Medical O2 is a form of pure O2 which is devoid of Nitrogen and other gases present in the air outside. Medical Oxygen gas plants are very important as oxygen is essential for surgeries that take place in the hospitals. Nowadays, these systems come with a full-proof mechanism that offers O2 supply that can be switched over as a cylinder supply like a backup.

There are several audible and visual systems present with the plants that alert about any problems in the structural maintenance because of the latest technology used to prepare these gas plants. Medical O2 is basically highly pure O2 which is beneficial for treatments and used for a ton of reasons for the human body.

However, if you need to get medical O2, you need to have a prescription from a certifiable doctor. However, these generators are specifically used in hospitals since the demand is so high all the time and has to be met without fail.

Hospitals use medical gas plants because they will never not need oxygen which is pure and devoid of any other gas like nitrogen. There are several equipments that are available at the plants known as:

PSA Oxygen Generator - this is an excellent example of getting high purity O2 immediately which does not cause any problem or harm to the environment. The technology is so advanced these days that it gets upto 99.9% of pure O2. They are used as respiratory equipment to provide instant oxygen supply relief to a patient suffering from its deficiency.

Air compressor - oxygen concentrators basically separate the O2 from the air that it drags inside the generator. The air compressor filters out the ambient air and concentrates O2 molecules at one place so that patients can receive 95% pure O2. It basically sucks inside the ambient air which has both nitrogen and oxygen in maximum amount and then adjusts the pressures so that it can be provided at low pressures.

Oxygen Tanks - just after the ambient air is sucked into the air compressor, the compress separates the ambient air from the O2 molecules. The oxygen molecules are concentrated at one place to separate oxygen from other gases. The resultant air is almost 90-95 percent pure type of oxygen. However, this process keeps repeating till the user gets constant oxygen supply and the oxygen tanks store all that pure oxygen. Moreover, oxygen concentrators can run on electricity 24X7 and need not be refilled again and again.

Ammonia Cracker Unit - these units are used to produce cracked ammonia which is at a freezing point at -80 degree Celsius. These are used as dry gas with varying ratios of nitrogen and hydrogen.

Features of Medical Oxygen gas Plant/Generator

  • When the O2 and N2 seperation devices are cleaned, O2 needs to be tested and controlled to check for its functioning after being cleaned.
  • There are on-site supplying O2 generators that are needed by hospitals as a crucial mode of oxygen outlet. There are some device temperature tests conducted and control systems are established.
  • The users can start or stop the oxygen by a button to obtain O2 with a design that can flow the oxygen in its absolute purity in just 30 minutes.
  • If you need a flow capacity which remains stable at all times, they should choose the single line type.
  • However, if there is a high demand which could be unstable and needs to meet extra peak values, then double lines should be used.

Importance of Oxygen Generators in Hospitals

  • On-site oxygen generators are important as the need and demand for oxygen has increased ever since the onset of COVID-19.
  • They serve as an alternative to the traditional filled cylinders or liquid supply.
  • The oxygen generators allow patients to get a secure and a consistent supply of O2 right at the hospital without having to face any delay or problem.
  • Demand has grown ever since the pandemic and has also led to so many people relying on O2 cylinders to get their pure supply of oxygen.
  • The cylinders are not very heavy so it is easier to carry from one place to another.
