Do you know your why?

Me: Awesome! Why’s that?
Client: Well… Ermm, I just want to look better
Me: Okay cool, and why do you want to look better?
Client: Because… Because, well I can’t fit into my clothes anymore
Me: Which clothes?
Client: My dresses, jeans, underwear – none of them fit me anymore
Me: And how does that make you feel?
Client: Not great… Well, actually… Like sh#t if I’m honest Eddie.
Me: Why?
Client: Because... *Sigh*... I’m avoiding nights out, shopping with friends, social occasions and the thought of catching my reflection in the bathroom mirror is just, depressing
Me: That sounds painful to live with?
Client: It is…
*Awkward Silence*
Client: I guess I’ve just had enough of it. I want to change. I need to change.
Me: Why? What will change bring you?
Client: The confidence I want... To go shopping with friends and enjoy myself, to take a shower and be happy to catch my reflection, to wear a bikini on holiday with a smile, to wear my favourite dress and see my husband’s eyes light up again… To live. That’s what I want Eddie. That’s why I’m doing this.

Your TRUE goal has an EMOTIONAL attachment.
Dig deep. find it, live it, feel it, write it down and keep it with you.
I’ll get as awkward as I possibly can with clients in order to help them find theirs.
Because on those tough days, and weeks (which you WILL have) it’s only the emotional attachment to your “why” that will be powerful enough to keep you committed and on track.
