Steps for setting up Google Assistant with Samsung’s SmartThings

Google Home users

Launch the Google Home application.
Go to the menu.
Make sure that the Google account given in the list is the one used while setting up Google Home.
If you want to change the account, then go to the pull-down arrow located beside the account name.
Select Home Control.
Go to the Devices section and press the + button at the lower right corner.
Now, select SmartThings.
Key in the email associated to SmartThings.
Hit the Next button.
Fill in the password.
Press the Sign in button.
Now, open the menu and select the location.
Press the Authorize button.

Android 6.0 or later users

Launch Google Assistant by tapping and holding the Home button.
Now, press the blue colored button located at the upper right-hand corner.
Click on the menu button.
Select Settings from the menu.
Now, tap on Home Control.
Go to Devices and hit the + button below it.
Now, tap on SmartThings.
Key in the email address and go to the next window.
Fill the password and press the Sign in button.
Select the location and authorize the device

Android Wear 2.0+ users

Launch the Android Wear application on the phone.
Head over to Settings.
Now, select Home Control.
Go to the Devices segment and click on the plus button.
Select SmartThings.
Provide the login credentials.
After signing in, go to the Menu.
Select the location and then click on Authorize.
Now, just hit the Done button.

Steps for assigning SmartThings devices to rooms

Google Home

Launch the Google Home application.
Open the menu and select Home Control.
Now, choose rooms.
Hit the + button located in the lower right corner.
Choose a room for adding.
Hit the Done button.
Press the Devices tab.
Choose the device you wish to assign to the room.
Now, select Room.
Choose the room.
Go back to the main screen.

Android 6.0+ users

Tap and hold the Home button to launch the Google Assistant.
Press the blue button located at the upper right corner.
Now, open the menu.
Select Settings and then tap on Home control.
Now choose Rooms and tap on the + button located at the lower right corner.
Pick a room and add it.
Hit the Done button.
Now go to the Devices segment.
Choose the device you prefer to assign to the room.
Press the Room option.
Choose the room.

Android Wear users

Launch the Android Wear application.
Go to the Google Assistant Settings from the menu.
Select Home Control.
Press the Rooms option.
Add a room.
Confirm the action by tapping on Done.
Head back to the Devices tab.
Choose the device you prefer to assign to the room.
Tap on the Room option.
Pick the room.
