Communication challenge for software professionals

by Larry Page SEO Manager
Look all around, Communication is the buzz word today. From charity to marketing to politics everywhere communication is the corner stone for success. Many a times we have seen that in the absence of an effective communication strategy success has eluded the hard working, able and the deserving. So let us delve on what is communication. Communication is expressing and sharing thoughts, emotions, ideas, needs & fulfillment. For effective communication mastery of the language is important. Communication can be verbal as well as non-verbal.

In today’s India, communicating in English can open doors for you which otherwise would remain closed. Spoken English has become the basic criteria for moving ahead in life and career. The foremost people needing good English communication skills are professional working in field like software development. They require immaculate command over English to effectively get their work done. They need to interact with foreign and domestic clients. Today English has become the primary language of communication in all of Private sector and to a large extent for government also.

Now these professionals have reached to an advanced stage in their lives where learning new skills becomes difficult due to many constraints of time, societal pressure, travel to institute, quality of training, embarrassment etc. However, the situation is not so bleak. There are many ways in which these barriers can be overcome. The foremost among them are online learning and on phone classes.

Today there are many companies which are helping the learners to over-come these barriers with consummate ease. On phone classes are the far more effective that online classes. On phone classes require only a phone connection irrespective whether there is net connection or not. So even people on the lower rung of the corporate ladder can afford a feature phone. Another important aspect is anonymity. Learner learns at his own pace & place of comfort and the identity of the individual is also hidden. So the hesitation and embarrassment is not there. On the other end of the phone is a well-qualified & proficient trainer who not only helps answer query in non-judgmental way but also encourages the learner to speak. This help greatly in improving the confidence.

The trainers in such classes are very patient and understanding. They help by creating real life scenarios from the professional and personal arena of the learner. The role playing in such scenarios helps the learner with increasing his work based vocabulary. This also serves as a practice session for software professionals, on how to handle foreign on-site clients. This is very helpful in building a good impression and reputation in front of the foreign clients. This good impression most often leads to promotion and salary raise, which can easily compensate for the money invested in on-phone classes.

Foreign clients will call only for 2 reasons – some request for technical support or complaint for something not working. In both cases there is a large amount time & effort gets used up in explaining situation, possible solutions, system constraints (things that cannot be done) & resolution time for the requests/complaints. It is in such conversations that miscommunications happen due to language barrier. Greater command over spoken English with ease the situation to a great extent. This would lead to greater customer delight.

During the times of appraisal, promotion & new job interview good spoken English will give confidence to the interviewer that one is capable to handle the foreign clients. Recommendation by the foreign clients also give a lot of advantage in such situations. For details, Spoken English Classes. Please Visit; https://englishimpression.com/
