When looking to buy Hastelloy C276 tubing, one of the most important properties you need to know is its corrosion resistance. Nickel alloys form the best materials for these tubing since they combine different materials that provide the best properties for tubing.

Copper, carbon, iron, as well as silicon and manganese, are a great combination for a nickel alloy with impressive properties. When you buy Hastelloy C276 tubing, remember that it is the combination of these metals that gives them their strength and on their own, they would not be as strong.

Nickel on its own displays the ability to resist heat and corrosion which is why it is usually included when making tubing that will be exposed to high temperature and need to be resistant to corrosion.

When nickel is mixed with copper, you come up with a strong alloy that will be good for use outdoors. The addition of copper makes it a good electric conductor and it also protects from corrosion by forming a green layer that prevents the elements from affecting the alloy any further. This alloy can be submerged in water or even buried in the ground and it will remain resistant.

At the same time, silicon can be added to the alloy to create resistance to the conductivity of electricity which copper provides so when laid underwater or buried, the tubes will not conduct electricity.

Nickel Alloys for Welding 
Some alloys may not be able to withstand very high temperatures. Welding is one of the activities that may expose alloys to high temperatures. High-performance alloys can withstand temperature as well as corrosion. A combination of aluminum and small quantities of carbon can make the nickel alloy perfect for exposure to heat. Carbon should be added in small quantities to ensure the alloy can still be machined since it is a very hard metal.

When you are buying C276 tubing, it is good to specify what properties you would want in the alloy and then one that meets your specific need can be made or recommended. There are so many things you can do with it as long as you have the right alloy combination.
