Biz Etiquette 101: How to Make an Impact and Land More Clients

by Sierra Powell Writer

Having a successful business means that you will have plenty of clients and new clients coming in all the time. You may think just because you have a good product or service, you do not have to do anything else. The truth is that the more you do to attract clients, the better your business will be.

Offering Strong Customer Service

One of the most important things that you should have with your business is a strong customer service model. You need to make sure that you and all of your employees are constantly thinking about your clients and what will make them happy. The happier a customer is, the more they are likely to recommend your services to other people. Word-of-mouth advertising is still a strong motivator. If you have poor customer service, you can rest assured that you will lose clients quickly. Work on things like making sure your employees are always friendly and helpful. If problems arise, ensure that the problems or complaints are taken care of swiftly.

Send Personalized Thank You Notes

Showing your appreciation and gratitude will create a positive impression and go a long way with your clients. For example, sending your clients a personalized thank you note after they use your service or purchase your product will make them feel appreciated. For a professional touch, get custom printed stationery for your business to create brand awareness. Expressing your gratitude will show them that you value them. Treating them as valued customers will help to increase the likelihood that they will be returning clients and refer you to their friends.

Offer Swag

If you have never offered swag to your clients, now may be the time to do so. There are various things you can offer that are simple. Things like pencils, pens, t-shirts, sweaters, notepads, erasers and more will all help to encourage your clients to come back to you. There have been many successful businesses that increased their client base just by offering swag. You can offer the swag as a giveaway if it is larger ticket items, or you can give them away at your place of business. If you want to give away simple things like magnets or pencils, it might be a good idea to send them through the mail as a gift.

Offer Discounts

Another way that you can increase your client base is to offer discounts on various services and products. Do not do this to the point where you will be losing money. Do a small discount for new customers or existing customers. This will help to encourage them to come to use your business for all of their needs. You can set discounts or coupons at whatever you wish. Just make sure that you get the coupons and discounts out to your customers. You can do this by putting them on your websites and various social media sites.

Social Media Is At Your Disposal

Do not neglect to use your social media channels. One thing that many businesses are missing out on is the free advertising that you can get for your company by joining the various social media sites. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even Tik Tok are great for business. The best thing is that posting on these sites is free. If you want to pay for extra advertising, you can, but if you work at it, you can reach thousands of clients for free.

However, posting on social media is not enough. You need to ensure that you have a good social media campaign. This includes posting frequently, hosting questions and answers, answering messages, and offering things like coupon codes. If you are not experienced with social media marketing, you will want to hire or consult with someone that is an expert to help you ensure that your pages are the best that they can be.

Sending out thank you cards, having strong customer service, and doing the rest of the things listed above will help you to make an impact on your clients. When you make an impact on your clients, they will recommend you to other people and continue to use your company for their needs. If you make a negative impact, they are more likely to go to your competition. You will want to work hard to ensure that your clients are happy. Doing so will help your business grow into the success that you want it to.
