Agritech Is The Next Dream Mission For Jignesh Shah
by Akash Sharma Akash SharmaToday
every 9th Agritech startup in the world is from India. While this certainly
does not come as a big surprise considering India has been going through a
sustained startup boom, it still poses the question - is this even close to the
potential the country has? With recent rise in funding, 48% Agritech CEOs
believe to have the next Agritech unicorn in coming 3 years as per a NASSCOM
report. But is that even scraping the surface?
However,
agro enthusiast and fintech entrepreneur/ innovator, Jignesh Shah does not
think so. He believes that Agritech has the potential to be the focal point for
India s transformation. And while trends in funding do seem promising, he
believes that there is also a huge lacuna in the mentoring space. While many
promising young startups manage to get past the initial seed funding stage,
they meet with an untimely demise due to the lack of professional and
experienced mentorship. And Jignesh Shah plans to provide just that.
With
the right amount of mentoring and enablement through deepening of innovation
building be it to nascent start ups or through FPO - startup connect,
innovation can definitely drive scaling up. With his vast experience of having
successfully set up greenfield exchanges not only in India but across Asia,
Africa and the middle East, Jignesh Shah has the unique combination of passion
as well as ability to help these startups help transform the country.
