7 Free or Inexpensive Ways to Help Your Business Stand Out

by Emma L. Business consultant

One of the greatest problems that the modern business world faces is the over-saturation of nearly every niche out there. This is hardly surprising seeing how with the imminent overpopulation almost 9 percent of all people who ever lived are present on our planet at the very moment. In other words, if you want to succeed you need to find the right way to stand out and here are seven free or inexpensive ways to do so.

1.      Learn About Your Target Market

The first step towards making your business stand out lies in learning about who is on the other end of the line. Imagine your audience as a single person. How old are they? Where are they from? What do they do in life and most importantly, what do they need you for? Once you figure this out, you will have a much easier time approaching them

2.      Make a Community

Another way in which you can stand out is to help your clients make a community. In this way, you help them socialize and find the solutions to their common problems on their own. The role of your company or product is to be the focal point around which they gather; to act as their nucleus.

3.      Have a Unique Trait

While it may seem that the numbers are against you on this one, it is not impossible to make a unique trait in your sales process. By including a handwritten thank you note, you are personalizing the overall user experience (UX), which in the myriad of duplicate companies may be exactly the refreshment your audience needs.

4.      Have a Great Domain Name

Next idea is to get a great domain name for your company. You can go with something simple yet meaningful. Something that is easy to memorize and that will bring a smile to your customer’s face whenever they remember it. Of course, it goes without saying that you should first check whether such a name is available or if it is already taken. If you get lucky, you should buy that domain name as soon as possible, before someone else gets the same idea.

5.      Respond to Feedback

While some see business world as the game of ego, it needs to be everything but. As soon as you start doing business, you are bound to get a lot of attention and not all of it will be positive. While some people tend to be spiteful and malicious, there are always those honest in their complaints. In their case, you need to do all in your power to address the issue in question. Adequately responding to negative feedback, both verbally and action-wise is what can make your company truly different.

6.      Start a Blog

If you believe you have a fresh perspective on your industry, it might be worth your while to offer a piece of mind to your audience. The easiest way to do so is to start a blog. In this way, you will gain a unique voice and through it, become recognizable in your business niche. However, this would mean regularly providing your viewers with quality content which is not an easy feat.

7.      Same-Day Delivery

What is one thing that your customers care about most when it comes to your product? Probably the price. Well, what comes after as a close runner up is the time of delivery. This is where companies that offer a same-day delivery may have a significant edge over their competition. Unfortunately, this may not always be as inexpensive, but if you limit this service to your closest surroundings you can definitely make a compromise.

Conclusion

As you can see, for those determined to find a way to stand out there are always at least few options out there worth trying out. Seeing how most of them are either completely free or cost next-to-nothing, there is no downside to experimenting a bit.
