5 Great Things To Put In A Father’s Day Hamper - Shredded-Paper

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

It seems to come around faster every year, doesn’t it? Yes, on Sunday 19th June, it really will be Father’s Day again – and here at Shredded-Paper.co.uk, we suggest that 2022 might be the year to do things a bit differently with your gift-buying for your old man.

Yes, rather than hurriedly grab a luxury biscuit tin or even a pair of cosy slippers a few days before the big date, we’re suggesting you take on the challenge of assembling an entire gift hamper for your dad.

Traditionally here in the UK, a lot of us have tended to associate the very concept of a gift hamper with Christmas – but for quite a few reasons, it can be a lot of fun to extend that ‘tradition’ beyond the festive season.

So, with no further ado – what items might you place in your own Father’s Day hamper this year?

A personalised pen and giftbox

Let’s face it – as much as we might constantly strive to be ‘paperless’, the world doesn’t seem to have quite got to that stage yet. What we’re saying is, we always need a pen, and your dad probably does, too.

Including a classy personalised pen in your hamper, then, such as this bamboo offering from Notonthehighstreet, could be a very nice touch.

A vinyl record cleaning kit

Naturally, if your dad has a treasured hobby or interest, you will probably want at least some of the items in the hamper to tie in obviously with this (after all, you’ll have a lot of space to fill).

A good rule of thumb here is to ask what may be essential to his hobby – something you can be sure he will use. And if his passion is music and vinyl records, a cleaning kit like this one from Amazon UK– for keeping his records clean and sounding great – could hit the spot very nicely.

At least one or two DIY gifts

If you’re assembling a Father’s Day hamper yourself instead of buying it from a store, it might seem a shame if the items inside it are all the kinds of things you would expect to see the moment you walk into your nearest supermarket.

So, think about what kinds of ‘DIY’ gifts you could come up with for your dad – such as something from this list by Good Housekeeping, including the likes of printable bottle tags and an Instagram picture frame.

Some ‘post-poo drops’… whatever they are

Nearly all dads are probably at least slightly partial to a bit of crude humour from time to time. So, it’s something you might want to acknowledge in your hamper – but given that this is, after all, a hamper, you will probably want to make that allusion with a bit of class.

Step forward, Aesop’s Post-Poo Drops… an amusingly named botanical bathroom deodoriser that is actually genuinely useful. It’s priced at the time of typing at £20 from John Lewis, with one reviewer commenting: “I bought these as a bit of a joke for our guest bathroom but they really work!”

Our own hamper tissue!

Even if you’re happy with the items you have chosen for your hamper, you will probably also appreciate having the right filling material to help ‘cushion’ those precious gifts – and of course, so will your old man.

Our own shredded paper makes excellent hamper tissue for more than a few reasons – including the many colours in which it is available, its eco-friendliness, and its sheer high quality that helps to prevent it being as easily crushed by heavier items as conventional tissue paper would be.

In other words, our shredded paper could be ideal hamper tissue when you’re putting together a Father’s Day hamper – and don’t forget that it can also be delivered for free to most UK mainland postcodes
