3 Reasons You Need a Photo Printer

by Ankita Sehgal Freelance Blogger, Lives in New Delhi
Living in the digital era, we have the ability to click hundreds of pictures without having to worry about wasting a film or the storage space for these images. It is but obvious that not every image is worth saving, printing, displaying, or gifting. But quite often, we come across a few photos that are worth the effort. Unfortunately, the problem is that even with full intent, we never get around to printing any of them, let alone the best out of the lot.

As a photographer, you spend a lot of time clicking photos, editing, blogging, and uploading them on social media. But what most of us need to realize is that a photo’s purpose is far from finished. Not to say that sharing your work online is a bad option. But is it just about feeding into the noise? What are the images for, if you never really look at them again?

It is not always the best option to keep these images digitally stored. Most of the photographers who have made the shift to printing their images have made the move from a desire to create and share something tangible in this age of digital noise and mere Instagram posts. If you too are keen on making the shift to printing your photos, we have some pointers for you.

First things first: buying a photo printer. The Canon PIXMA G2010 is designed for high-quality printing at a low running cost. This Wifi laser printer is commonly used among photographers who have claimed that they couldn’t be happier with the print results.

Listed below are a few reasons that will give you the much-needed push towards printing your clicks.

1. Editing Skills: Holding the photo in your hands allows you to focus on certain details that you tend to overlook while surfing through your laptop screens. You notice certain spots and angles and the importance of zooming in close and panning around the photo looking for pain points. Working on your editing skills would give you better print results and help you develop a habit of post-processing.

2. Photography Skills: Printing your images, amplifies all the issues in your pictures. Posting images on Instagram gives you a lot of leeways, and we tend to ignore the details. Small screens as it is don’t reveal much. The detailing could either be faulty or beautiful, but it’ll only be noticeable in print. Being aware of this makes you work for a better image in your camera than having to work on fixing it in Photoshop. Making edits digitally is not always possible, often very difficult and well, usually we tend to be lazy!

3. Inspiration: Taking prints of your best images sure acts as an inspiration to click more and better images. It makes you happy to see the fruitful results of your talent and brings a smile to your face. Using a wireless inkjet photo printer for all your photo prints allows you to print small and large images without harming the quality of your clicks. It will make you want to head out and create more images.

With these happy thoughts and proud sentiments, let’s start a new cycle: shoot, edit, print, repeat!
