You Can Be Successful In Business And Be Healthy

by Darlene Isberg Internet User

Many people follow the allure of running a successful business as it looks so appealing.  One doesn't have to answer to anyone and the money just rolls in 'cause they have made or found a really good product which everyone would want.  Then, they can work when they want and they can play when they want.  Oh, Life Would Be So Good.

Nothing could be so far from the truth.  Oh, it can happen but generally it doesn't.  People start a business quite often without any business acumen.  They don't know what is actually involved in running a business.  They don't know about the government regulations and requirements, taxation, collecting debts, accounting, dealing with the lack of cash flow and the rest of the 50 hats every self-employed person must deal with to be successful.  And, they sure don't know about the stress all of this will cost both them and their family.

To compensate for their short-falls they then use their time, lots and lots of time, as quite often that is all the flexibility they have.  This of course eliminates their time used previously for their home life.  They also forfeit their time spent with just enjoying their family and family activities.

So how can this be turned around?

1.  Do not start a business without a Business Plan.  Creating this plan will quickly disclose the intricacies required for self-education, cash flow, and necessary business procedures.  This will bring about informed decisions based on fact rather then fantasy and relieves one's mind about the unknown.  A Business Plan makes one very aware of what is required, when, how and with whom.  That relieves many a sleepless night when one doesn't know about this information.

2.  Keep a cash reserve for emergencies.  All the start-up funds should not be used even though there will be many temptations to do so.

3.  The family must be kept involved. They can give relief where ever possible with understanding and support when needed

4.  Keep the work area organized.  Give everything it's place.  This will relieve those little frustrations of not being able to find a tool, a documents or even a lunch, when one is dealing with clutter.

5.  Use a daily planner which outlines a year.  Use a daily planner.  Get it?  Review it first thing each morning and make notes to it as the last activity of the day.  Schedule family time in the daily planner too.  Make it happen.

6.  Become an active member in the community and give wherever possible in services to others not so accomplished as you have become.

7.  Remember when to go home.

By following this outline it will reduce considerable amounts of stress both mentally and physically helping one to  staying healthy and having a successful business.
