How To Get Really Lucky In Network Marketing

Why are some people luckier than others? Why do things just seem to fall into place for some people and not for most? Why are some people so much happier than others and have more friends?

It's no accident. People aren't just blessed with good fortune, though sometimes it might seem that way. It might seem unfair. But the truth is, people who are lucky have mastered "The Spiderweb Effect." People who are lucky build large webs. People who are unlucky do not build webs at all.

There's a great saying: "The harder I work, the luckier I get." It's certainly true, from my personal experience. It's especially true when you work at building relationships. The harder you work at making contacts, helping other people and developing relationships, the greater the universe of people who have a strong positive feeling for you and the more you are likely to be lucky.

Here's the amazing insight... You are in control of your own luck! The more contacts you build over time, the more likely you'll be in the right place at the right time. When time comes one of your contacts comes across an opportunity that would be perfect for you, the chances are they'd call you.

On the other hand, if you did not make contact with other people, you would never hear of great opportunities or be a part of great things. If you never make contact with other people, you'd probably suffer a lifetime of bad luck, loneliness and boredom.

And that is a big problem in our modern society. Whilst our income, standard of living and our number of material possessions has increased significantly over then last 50 to 100 years, our general level of happiness has decreased.

And the reason for that is in our corporate, over communicated society, people are more disconnected than they have ever been before. People have lost their sense of community. They do not talk to their neighbours anymore. They rarely talk to each other while commuting. And when they do talk, it's rarely about things that are really important

A recent study revealed that the average American has 0.75 best friends! What this means is 25% of the population does not have one close confidant with whom they can share their true feelings. And that is a big, big shame. Our true friendships today have been replaced with "fake" relationships on Internet social networks, where it's a race to see how many "friends" you can make on Facebook and MySpace.

Our social space has changed, but people have not. People still want to be loved. People still want to have fun. They still want to have a sense of achievement and self-satisfaction. They still want security. They want passion. They want freedom. And they want to trust somebody.

This is what is so beautiful about the network marketing business model. Network marketing is, has always been and always will be about relationships. It's an industry where the most powerful relationships are built because you are connecting with people who all want the same thing - their freedom.

The more relationships you build, the luckier you get. You mission, as network marketer is as many trustworthy relationships with the other home business minded people as you can. The only way to do that is to connect with them on a personal level. That is, pick up the phone and call them and get to know them. Get to know their frustrations, fears and insecurities and find a way to help them.

As a network marketer, you can't hide behind your marketing, or have a "pseudo identity" like Internet affiliate marketers. Those guys are playing a different game. MLM is a relationships business.

What an awesome blog. I hope everyone reads this. Networking is about relationships period not a program, no matter how great that program is!

Great post and like Cheryl I too hope everyone reads this.

We do need to get back to the "old time way" of relationship building as against this new impersonal way that we all seem to embrace so easily.

Well said Rakesh.

Great article. Relationships are the key to success in this industry.More people need to stop hiding behind their computers and realize that the internet is only a tool to be utilized. It will never replace human contact.
