I'm rebuilding after an accident

by Barry Power
I destroyed my site by accident. I was a bit depressed at the time and I was upgrading the software on my site but I uploaded and installed the wrong version of software.
I should have know better, well it was a nasty lesson to learn, anyhow theres always the backup.

I tried the backup but it was corrupted and I didn't have another backup because I had deleted it to fit the newer backup on my hard drive. I was restricted by space.

The lessons I learned were - don't upgrade when you are depressed,
make sure you have disk space for a couple of backups (I have since got a bigger hard drive),
make sure you have a good design of what you put on your site and where you can access the information in times of disaster.

I'm now rebuilding my site. I hope to be a bit better in documentation of what I put up and make sure my backups work.
I will endeavour to make the site better than before.

I am sorry to hear that happened. I know it can be aggravating! I have had it happen before. At least now you have a bigger hard drive, and your site will be bigger and better than ever! Can't wait to see what you are doing. Going now.

Dude, there are two places to stay away from when you not are quite up to strength-- One is the Poker tables and the other is your computer hutch! :)

I have data base and backup stuff that is free, if you should need it just ask! :)

Hi Barry,
I hope you have cheerful days ahead of you again. Dumb depression, don't think there is anyone out there that can say that they never ever have had it.

Come on into Apsense, we will keep you smiling! :-)
Sorry about your data loss, hope that never happens again. I've been there done that too.

Best wishes to you!
