The only reason why people want to do blogs is to not only get the readers but to also gain the optimization necessary in order for you to reach the right audience on the search engines. However, sometimes it gets really frustrating when you are typing in the keyword you are trying to optimize on and you don't see any of your content. Well I am going to show you four reasons why this is the case.
Bad Keyword Research
The fundamental way to really find a good keyword to rank on is to use the quotation method in the search bar. What you are looking for is how many sites are actually using this phrase or keyword. If you see more than 20,000 results in quotations, more than likely your blog isn't going to optimize as well. If the results are 1,000 or less, you will have a better chance of ranking well.
The reason why you may not be optimizing well in the search engine is because you might be using keywords that have way too many sites occupying the keyword. The best way to alleviate this is to use long tail keyword phrases. Doing this should result to less sites using the phrase.
Not Enough Content
The other issue that can arise is not having enough content to optimize your blog. Some writers have just enough while others don't have enough at all to rank their site properly. Your blog needs to have at least 300 words in order for your blog to properly optimize. Within this word count, the keyword density needs to be around 5%, meaning that you need to have your keyword in there like 10 times. This should be enough to get you optimized.
Don't Use Tags Enough
You must use your tags when you are writing your blog. Most people are not using their tag lines because they don't see the point. Well the point of the tags are to help the site visitors be able to find your content on the blog as well as optimizing the site better in the search engines. It will be wise for anyone to use their tags to help readers find the content on the blog better as well as in the search engines.
Irrelevant Title
I don't care what the body of your content is saying, if your title isn't up to par with the rest of the content, then you might not maximize on your optimization efforts. Your title is actually the most important part of the whole blog post. Your title not only has to be catchy, it has to be relevant with the rest of the content on the blog itself.
