Google Meta Description Snippets to fit 160 Characters Again. Is There Any Latest Update?

The meta description for Google snippets has become 300 characters from 160 character. No further update is there regarding this.

You can use both 160 or 300. You have no need to shorten your description to 160 if you have already updated it to 300. It will automatically be used by Google.
