Review on Empire Avenue-What are you worth?
So Empire Avenue is a game. You invest in people and people invest in you as you create wealth, gain stockholders and create your own portfolio of people. Wealth is measured in 'eaves' You use the eaves to invest in others.While it is a game it's also a very good tool to use to track your online presence. EA allows you to connect your social networks and it tracks your activity, rewarding you with eaves each day for your activity. You can also connect your blogs/RSS feeds and get paid for posting to them in eaves allowing you to buy more stock in others. You get paid daily dividends from those you have invested in, gaining more eaves.
But what I have found is of the most use to me is my stock price. Your stock price rises or falls according to your networking activity. By watching my stock ticker, I can tell when I have a lot of activity and when I don't. Yes the ticker price fluctuates just like real stock. Right now I'm hovering around the (e)43 mark. I can easily track my activity since I know at a glance what I have done on my social networks for the past seven days and how much was done today.
The difference between EA and most of these 'social' games is in who is playing it. Corporations, companies, business people, causes, charities and just plain individuals. This game truly gives you the chance to connect with other business people around the globe. I am expanding my network and building relationships with others who work in complimentary fields all through this game.
