Your first year in network marketing can be the most important one. Your first year in network marketing is the corner stone of your whole career. And hence for a successful future you must make the most of this time.
At the beginning of your first year in network marketing you are likely one of thousands who will join an mlm company. It’s not a surprise with the state of the financial freedom and economy that the industry offers. These days there are a lot of network marketing opportunities, but they are not all created equal. There are many mistakes that people fall prey to that add to the high failure rate in the industry.
CAUSE OF FAILURES.
Most of the beginners in this business will fail. I’m not trying to be mean here, however, that’s the harsh reality that you need to face. But why do people fail? There are several reasons.
• LACK OF COMMITMENT : “I’ll try it and see if it works “ If this is your attitude then please don’t waste your money and time. Network marketing is a serious business. Its not a get rich quick job. It needs full dedication and honesty.
• FALSE MOTIVATION : Be clear about exactly why you want to get into this business. Don’t just signup into a company out of mere hype and enthusiasm that you got in a meeting. Your first year is going to be pretty tough and will demand hard work so you need a solid reason to keep you from quitting.
• JOIN THE WRONG COMPANY : There are a lot of mlm companies but all companies are not the same and a lot of companies go out of date everyday. So you need to be careful in your first year and do some research about the companies you join. You should join companies having the best comp plan, leadership, timing, product with mass appeal, etc.
In of your first year in network marketing you need to forget about the get rich overnight promises. It is very possible to attain success in the first year but it depends on a lot of factors, some of which are out of your reach. But for most people it is not always success. There is going to be a learning curve that you must go through.
MUST DO’S DURING YOUR FIRST YEAR IN NETWORK MARKETING :
• BE READY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS : Network marketing comes with its own set of problems. You must be ready to face problems one after another without giving up or blaming others.
• DEVELOP A BUSINESS MINDSET : Network marketing is actually a business. So naturally like any other business it requires hard work and the ability to accept failure.
• SET REALISTIC AND ACHIEVABLE GOALS : Setting your goal too high during the first year can lead to a lot of pressure and frustration, which should be avoided. Your focus should be on small term achievable goals which you can attain free mindedly without the unnecessary stress.
• STAY IN ACTION: Keep walking, that’s the motto. No matter how you perform but you need to keep up the energy with which you started your work.
• TRAINING : Due to the increasing competition training is very important. You don’t want to start off your business untrained. You should learn how to market your product without looking like a desperate sales man.
Your first year in network marketing is going to be a learning experience for you. Every toddler falls before he learns to walk so don’t be afraid of failures, take them as experience for what you should not do in the future. If you maintain your focus and energy you should be able to achieve your goals within 3-4 years.
During your first year in network marketing don’t be desperate. Don’t take advantage of people for making some quick money. Be honest to others and to yourself. Your reputation will play an important role in achieving success.

I would agree with the others, this is good article and all the facts are 100% true.. I would just like to add one more reason that makes beginners quit in the first year. Majority doesn't understand mlm at all, they don't take it as an real entrepreneurial business, more like a job with a less dignity than any other job..
