It's officially official folks, Xiaomi's second launch for 2016 will be the Xiaomi Mi 5
and that's happening on February 24. This has been confirmed by a
Xiaomi co-founder and now by Global VP Hugo Barra and India Head Manu
Kumar Jain.

The only confirmed detail of the Mi 5
is that it'll be using a Snapdragon 820, making it only the second
phone to use Qualcomm's latest top-of-the-line processor (barring any
other companies introducing a phone with it between now and then). That
said, Android Central reports that there have been a lot of leaked
specs, with recent reports suggesting that the new phone will have a
5.2-inch Quad HD display, 4GB of RAM, a base of 32GB of storage, a
16-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera.
Xiaomi's
previous flagship, the Mi 4, impressed us with swift performance and a
fine camera, but it was its extremely affordable price that really wowed
us. Xiaomi
will have to maintain its focus on value with the Mi5 if it hopes to
compete in the "cheap but good" arena that has become increasingly
crowded with smartphones from China.
