We have been hearing a lot about Xiaomi's upcoming flagship device but nothing has been made official so far. The closest thing to official we have on Xiaomi Mi 5 right now is the company's CEO Lei Jun describing it to be "very, very good" and "worth the wait." But the real specs of the Mi 5 smartphone remain classified.

Xiaomi Mi 5

In terms of specifications of the handset, Mi 5 is expected to be a major overhaul over than Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. The 2016 flagship is expected to flaunt a metallic build with rounded corners and a Home button with integrated fingerprint sensor.

The Mi 5 will reportedly come with either a 5.0-inch or 5.2-inch display, aided by 1080p screen resolution. Sadly, the QHD rumors have been shot down. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s latest powerhouse Snapdragon 820 will take charge and a solid 4 GB of RAM will back the configuration.

Speaking of camera specification, the handset will apparently sport a 16-megapixel rear-facing sensor, in addition to a generous 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats. Other than the standard connectivity options, rumors say, a USB Type-C port can also be expected.

Even with these high-end specs, Xiaomi Mi 5 will keep the cost of the device somewhere around 2499 Yuan (approx $385 or Rs. 25,000).

In any case, readers are advised to take the reported Xiaomi Mi 5 related details with the proverbial pinch of salt as the Xiaomi company has not confirmed any information so far.
