Why should you not post your content on all social media platforms at once

Sure, it is one of the top strategies to have an account on every social media platform so that you can post your content everywhere, because the common belief is that it will probably get you maximum reach, engagement and buy Facebook picture likes, but this is exactly where we could be wrong.

 

In 2022, it is high time to re-think your social media strategy, because posting to all accounts, on all platforms, all at once might not work out for you anymore as well as it might have done in the past.

 

Having a content posting strategy and scheduling it to be posted on all platforms in one day may look a little spammy to your average follower on Instagram, or any other social platform. In this post we will walk you through five reasons why you should not post on all social media platforms at once.

1.      Your audience is not available on all platforms at the same time

Your content posting strategy is supposed to be tailored according to each social media platform that you are going to post on. You will not get the engagement rates that you may have in mind because your audience uses each social media platform at a different time in their day. You should also keep in mind what kind of social media platform is most preferred in your country – wherever that you are based that is.

 

Consider the platforms you want to use, how many hours of content you want to create on a monthly basis, and how much money or time it would take. If you have a limited budget and limited time, then Instagram is probably not the right platform for your brand. Also consider which audiences are popular on different platforms. For example, Snapchat is usually used by millennials and Instagram is usually used by older generations. Create a brand voice on social media for your audience by being consistent with your content.

 

Do not change the core values of your brand just to appeal to a different audience, but tailor it to how they would like to see your content. Create a consistent tone and personality across all platforms that you use so that people can identify with you.

2.      Your audience will miss the point

Your message should be tailored to suit each social media platform or your audience will miss the message that your content is trying to communicate. You should post on the right channel at the right time and make sure that you are not making your content repetitive.

 

There is no point in posting the same message across different channels because your audience will not be able to see it. For example, if you are promoting an event, you should post on Facebook and Instagram but not Twitter or LinkedIn.

3.      Posting requirements may differ on each platform

All social media platforms are different when it comes to uploading your content in the form of images or videos, for instance, Facebook does not make your carousel posts look good if you directly just post them from Instagram, because Facebook doesn't really have the swipe right option.

 

You might need to change your carousel post into a single image post, or craft out a caption that urges people to click on your post to view more.

4.      Your audience is likely not to look at every platform, all at once, at once time

If you ask us, we are likely to go through our YouTube shorts, or TikTok videos during

work break. If it were during work hours, we are likely to scroll through Instagram because it might not be as obvious as using YouTube.

 

Furthermore, you need to also consider time-zones, as there are twenty-four of them. To make things easier, we have analyzed the different social media platforms and compiled a list of the best times to post on each one. Facebook allows you to post content on a variety of topics, but it is best used as a storytelling platform. Posting on Facebook during dinner or dinner time will give your content more views and engagement.

 

When posting during the afternoon, posts that encourage interaction or social interaction are most likely to be shared. Posts are also shared at night when people are catching up on the day's events and they are most likely to be social in nature. Posts at night provide different types of content than posts during the day.

 

The social media landscape is constantly changing and evolving. There are so many platforms to choose from, each with their own unique features and audiences. This makes it difficult for marketers to know where and how to put their efforts.

 

To be successful on social media, you need to be strategic and choose the right platforms for your content. If you post on all platforms at once, your content is seen only once and gets boring. It is better to see it on one platform and ignore it on another. This way, you can have a more targeted audience and increase the chances of engagement.
