Why PRP in the Hair Transplant Procedure

by Ankur S. Technical Writer

The PRP or platelet-rich plasma comes under the therapy given in sessions in order to promote the hair growth via faster healing for the patients who received the hair transplant procedure and also for those taking it as an alternate option to control the further hair loss. Nowadays, most of the recognized hair transplant clinics offer the PRP therapy along with the hair transplant surgery means they give a prior PRP session in order to give the best effect of the surgery. PRP is allowed before starting the procedure and so the cost of hair transplant in Delhi gets accelerated and all accepted in the hair transplant market.

First of all, it is important to know that what is PRP and why is it needed in the hair transplant surgery?

What is PRP Treatment?

The PRP or the platelet-rich plasma is an injection that contains the patient’s own blood enriched with blood plasma followed by the centrifugation to make it more concentrated and then injected into the areas where hair loss occurs. The PRP injection is allowed for the patients who are suffering from the extreme hair loss and cannot receive the procedure due to age-factor or the insufficient donor strength. But, the session of PRP is also recommended to perform the surgery in order to make the procedure’s effect double in terms of the fastest healing and boosting the regrowth of hair.

In PRP session the fresh blood is extracted from the patient’s own body and then injected into the hair loss affected areas. The blood that is taken out from the body enriched with the plasma and so the effect of therapy would give you the best effect. The plasma is actually the protein that accelerates the healing process and supports the hair growth.

The procedure of hair transplant is now advisable with the PRP-treatment that makes the procedure a bio-effective. And so both the techniques, either it is FUT or the FUE can be performed along with the session of PRP, known as the Bio-FUT or Bio-FUE hair transplant procedure.

Why is PRP needed in the Hair Transplant Procedure?

·         It Contains derived Growth Factor: The PRP contains the blood-plasma protein that has some derived growth factor known as Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and transforming growth factor (TGF) that helps in faster healing of wounds and also induces the hair growth.

·         It Promotes Hair Growth: The blood plasma protein is enriched with the coagulation property and so promote the faster wound healing and accelerate the hair growth as its response to hair follicles are predominantly effective. The boosting the hair growth property induced by the PRP is taken as a most advantageous aspect while treating the hair loss problem.

·         It helps in reversing Miniaturization: The PRP session helps in reversing the miniaturization process as it helps in promoting the growth of hair and control the further hair loss or miniaturization by the activity of platelet activators, such as thrombin, calcium chloride, and collagen.

Denouement: In the nutshell, we can say that the procedure of hair transplant added with the PRP therapy gives the best outcomes and makes the procedure a bio-effective by the addition of plasma-protein of blood via injection. But, it is needed to be continued periodically to maintain the growth process.
