What are the possible causes of QuickBooks Error PS033?

1. When your Payroll subscription is not activated.

2.  Activation of more than one payroll in the inactive Direct Deposit agreement.

3.   If you are functioning on a damaged QuickBooks Desktop file

4.  While your QuickBooks Data is damaged due to some reason.

5.  Outdated QuickBooks version.

6.  Service Key used is wrong.

7.   Invalid or incorrect company file Employer Identification Number (EIN)

8.   Invalid or incorrect company file PSID

9.    Your QuickBooks Desktop is not compatible with your present Windows version.

10.  “Invalid number or EIN” is the status on your QuickBooks Desktop.

What measures can be taken to fix QuickBooks Payroll Error PS033?


Follow the steps one after another with utter attentiveness:

Step 1: Update QuickBooks Payroll Tax table, to ensure better results in further steps.

Step 2: Now check if your issues have been resolved. If not, then swiftly move on to the next step.

Step 3: You must go through the location that is provided in you device.

C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 20QQ\Components\Payroll\CPS

Step 4:  QQ is the reference to your yearly edition like 2018, 2017, 2016

Step 5: Now, Rename CPS folder to CPSOLD and check again. The problem must be resolved by now. But if it still doesn’t

Step 6: Repeat Step 1.

Step 7: When this is done you need to turn off User Account Control (UAC). If you want to try this then you really have to follow the instructions.

Applicable for UAC settings change (Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7)

Press Windows + R, then Visit Run and Write Control Panel, press Ok. Now, Tap on User Accounts, Choose User Accounts (Classic View) and then Visit Change user account control settings, Move the slider and finally select Never Notify option.
