Website * Apps - Old Designs Vs New

by Dave Jones Web Developer with pizzazz to die for
Do you remember the original Facebook, the original Youtube with their lovely blue and white HTML designs?
In all honesty, they haven't changed a huge amount, however, it is still certainly interested to look and see how they've literally developed over the years.

Apps too - although they haven't been around quite as long, are constantly changed to improve user experience, and to fit more adverts in!

Facebook's homepage hasn't actually changed a huge amount. The same colours at least, are still present. The big difference is that it is no longer available just to a handful of college students in America. Again Youtube hasn't altered that much. This may represent the fact that people have very short attention spans and a low amount of patience when browsing online. Any big changes in design and UX could be disastrous for a website.

If Facebook started the trend/revolution in social media, then Spotify has mirrored this impact in the world of online music.  The app is currently a lot more visual, making songs easier to browse and recognise.

You can see and use the before and after slide to compare old and new website designs here.
