by Masashi S. JDM Enthusiast

The BMW X1 was first introduced in 2009 and is one of the smallest SUVs in the BMW line-up with great efficiency, technology, versatility, and a sporty nature with powerful turbocharged engines. The 2021 F48 X1 series is part of the second generation of the BMW X1 that was first released in September 2015. The X1 2021 is built on the BMW UKL2 platform and is one of the most well-known Sport Utility Vehicles with superb design and luxurious features. Now, let us take a look at the 5 Pros and cons of the BMW X1 2021.

5 Pros

Comfortable Seats

The BMW X1 2021 offers very comfortable seats that can fit big and tall occupants. The driver’s seats are adjustable and the headrests can also be tilted for added comfort. The steering column has a tilting and telescoping mechanism and the adjustability of the BMW X1 2021 is exceptional which you can’t see on other vehicles in this class.

Spacious Cargo and Storage Area

The BMW X1 2021 offers plenty of boot space with 27.1 cubic feet when the back seats are upright and when you fold it down, it can extend up to 58.7 cubic feet. The 40/20/20-split folding back seat can also slide and recline, with the addition of underfloor space in the cargo area.

Front-wheel- or All-wheel-drive System Options

The BMW X1 2021 offers a front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive layout in standard front-wheel-drive sDrive28i or an all-wheel-drive xDrive28i system. An all-wheel drive is a good option for harsh weather conditions. While the front-wheel-drive is one of the more popular options among consumers.

Spacious Cabin Space

The BMW X1 2021 provides plenty of cabin space for both the driver and front passenger seat. While the back seat also has enough room for the rear passengers with enough headroom.

Strong Turbocharged Engine

BMW X1 2021 has offered a series of engine options including the 1.5 L B38 straight-3 turbocharged producing 105 kW (141 hp), and a 2.0 L B48 turbocharged straight-4 petrol engine producing 170 kW (228 hp) coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Also comes with 2.0 L B47 a straight-4 turbocharged diesel engine producing power of 110 kW (148 hp).

5 Cons

Poor Sound System

The BMW X1 2021 has multiple features but certainly lacks when it comes to the sound system. The standard sound system needs more quality and it is downgraded compared to its competitors. You can get a better sound system with their optional Harman Kardon but you have to spend more money to get a high-quality music experience.

Overly-stiff Suspension

The BMW X1 2021 is a great car but the ride quality it offers is a different matter. It has an overly stiff suspension which delivers a poor ride quality and is one of the weakest spots of the model. The suspension should be a bit softer in its tuning to maintain its place in the competition.

Plenties of Optional Features

The BMW X1 2021 offers a great number of features but some of the best features are optional and need to spend more money to get better features. Among the optional features are built-in navigation, head-up display, wireless charging pad, semi-autonomous parking assistant, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium setup. Even the adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist are optional.

Costly Price Tag

The BMW X1 2021 is one of the best luxury SUVs of BMW however, the cost of this model is so expensive. Also, adding the optional features that you might like, the price will certainly increase.

Average Interior

The BMW X1 2021 interior consists of premium materials is rather boring, and lacks some innovation and futuristic style. The X1 2021 rivals offer a more refined and high-tech cabin, so an improvement must be made to make it more eye-catching.

Finally

The BMW X1 2021 is one of the top-selling luxury crossover SUVs with high-rating reliability, safety, and a comfortable cabin. It has amazing power, efficiency, luxury, and sporty nature, which is indeed a worthy car. You can check the BMW X1 stocklist for more available and affordable models.
