Try new summer flavored birthday cupcakes
A birthday celebration is incomplete without a birthday cake.
And even though children’s birthday parties call for cute cakes in either
cartoon or princesses shapes and evergreen flavors such as chocolate, vanilla,
or red velvet to name a few, adults can be a little more adventurous. Firstly
an grown-up birthday party doesn’t necessarily have to have a large single
birthday cake. The dernier cri is to have birthday
cupcakes.
Birthday cupcakes are a great change from
traditional birthday cakes. They can be ordered in a combination of flavors,
but you can take a step further and try a few exotic toppings instead of the
tried and tested chocolate, berries, sprinkles, etc.
·
Pick the
buds
Give the sugar flowers a miss and try edible natural flowers
instead. They look much more sophisticated and visually stunning. Since they
are natural, they do not pose any health hazards and most flowers are rich in
Vitamin A and C.
·
Feel the
heat with chilies
Try turning on the heat with a few chilies. Combined with the
sweetness of the cupcake, the heat from the chilies will be a contrasting
flavor and will cause an explosion in your mouth. It is best to keep the seeds
out in sweet dishes, but if you are adventurous enough chomp on a few seeds as
well. Most chilies contain healthy minerals such as potassium, magnesium and
iron. So skip the carbohydrate rich banana and chop some chilies instead.
·
Spice it up
with saffron
Saffron is known as one of the world’s most expensive spices.
It is famous for its heady aroma and rich yellow tint. Mix a few saffron
strands through the icing and slather on.
·
Bitter
better than sweet
Bitter chocolate commonly known as dark chocolate is much
better than white chocolate. A good dark chocolate bar will contain 70-80%
cocoa. Dark chocolate has many proven health benefits, especially for
women. Give regular chocolate a miss and
live life on the dark side.
·
Goji
Berries
We all love a healthy helping of berries on our cupcakes such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, to name a few. But give these a miss and try goji berries instead. They are a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals. Sprinkle them generously on birthday cupcakes or send a packet as part of a carefully assembled birthday gift baskets.
