If your house is big enough and you have an extra room that you haven't decided what to do, why don't you turn it into a lovely guest room. After all you might have friends coming over from far away, or your parents might like to visit every now and then, so provide them with the comfort of having their own area in the house and make them feel welcomed. The following article will provide you with some useful ideas of how to crate the coziest and welcoming guest room.

If the you are not entering that extra room in your house too often, then the first advice that you will get from almost any end of lease cleaning expert in Melbourne would be to clean the room. Vacuum the floors, wipe off the dust from the furniture and even wash the windows if necessary. Then stock the place with toiletries. Most of the time, if you have planned the visit with your friends or relatives in advance, they will often bring with them some toiletries. However, if it happens spontaneous it is always better to be prepared, so leave some shampoo, a bar of soap, toothbrush and a comb either in a basket in the room, or if you have an extra bathroom which would be used for your guests then leave the toiletries there. Don't forget to provide fresh towels too and make sure you use clean bedding. If you have some ""fluffy"" pillows you can put them on the top of the bed once its done, but also provide regular pillows for your guests.

If there is enough space, consider providing some entertainment, such as a TV, books or at least a radio. Guests will always appreciate the gesture, especially if they want to watch some TV before going to sleep for example, but they would feel uncomfortable doing so in your living room. Also, purchase extra slippers if you don't have enough at home, especially if you have tile floors. Depending on the duration of their stay, you might want to consider providing your guests with an extra key in case you are not at home, or if they want to go for a walk on their own. City maps and guides are also useful if you have a friend who is coming to visit you from another city or country.

Finally, you can have some hotel-like service in the guest room. Here I am not talking about a real mini-bar (although you can have one if you want), but providing some snack, fruits or a bottle of water would always be appreciated from your guests.

As you can see, there are many things that you can do in order to create a welcoming atmosphere in your home and make your guests feel at home.
