Top Team Building Exercises

As, perhaps, any manager knows teamwork is one of the key factors towards a successful company. However, teams do not gel straight away and it usually takes some time until one can create a cohesion between the employees. Team building exercises are one of the most useful tools managers can use in order to create such cohesion. The numerous activities in which you can engage your workers could work as an icebreaker, as well as to improve the communication between the team and boost the morale, and of course to have some fun too. This article will show you what to consider when planning a team building even and it will also offer you some exercises which you can use to bring the team together.
Icebreakers
Two truths and a lie. So, let's start with some icebreaker exercises first. Perhaps, this game is better for small companies since it can be rather lengthy, but you can use it for big groups too. Start by asking each person to state two truths and one lie about themselves (but don't reveal which is which!) and after each person has made their statement, allow 10-15 minutes for an open conversation, where everybody ask each other on their questions. The idea behind this exercise is to convince the rest that your lie is actually truth, while try to other people's truths/lie. This game will encourage your employees to communicate with each other and they will get to know each other a bit better in the process.
Classification game. This is another easy and quick icebreaker activity. Split your employees into groups of four and explain to them the concept of 'pigeon-holing someone', which simply means stereotyping someone. But don't forget to mention that this classification is highly subjective and unhelpfully judgmental. Begin by asking each member of the teams to introduce to each of the other group members and to quickly discuss their likes and dislikes. After that ask the teams to find a way to classify themselves, as a team, into two or three subgroups but without using discriminatory, prejudicial or negative criteria. Some of the classifications could include labels such as 'morning people', 'pizza lovers', 'party lovers', etc. As vacate cleaning professionals from Melbourne have noted, this exercise will encourage them to get to know each other better.
Problem-solving
The green-light. In this exercise, team member should identify a real work problem and try to solve it together. However, no member will be allowed to make any negative comments and they will have to share only positive ideas. After each member has presented his or hers problem-solving ideas, the team gathers together and brainstorms the most effective strategy to solve the problem. This exercise will get your employees to communicate openly, to formulate best practices and to draw onto their core team values.
Fun activities
Well, not that the aforementioned
exercises are not going to be fun, but there are certain activities
which boost teams morale best. And although there are plenty of things
that you can do to have fun, some of the best working team-building
exercises, in my opinion, include - karaoke, bowling or other sport
activities. These activities are both challenging and can create more
cosy atmosphere among the team.
