Top Foods To Provide For A Good Gut Health

So, a friend of mine, having read my works on gut health, a friend of mine asked “why do you harp on gut health so much? What’s in a gut?” Trust me! It’s an entire ecosystem and its wellbeing or its deterioration has a lot to do with good and bad health respectively. Gut is the gateway to the entire body, because of the digestive tract. So… it does affect the human health. In a human gut  there are multiple (billions of) microbes, both good and bad. The good microbes help maintain good health and keep a check on the bad ones.

But what is the primeval way to maintain a good gut health? Well! Food! Food is what goes in for digestion into the gut. A bad diet could cause you serious health issue in terms of gut health. In fact the greatest cause of a leaky gut is bad diet.  If you are suffering from leaky gut, then the best course of action is consume such foods as which heal such ailments. Here are a few of the foods that should enable you to take charge over your leaky guts:

Bone Broth

Bone broth contains collagen, gelatin as well as glutamine which enable you to repair the lining of the gut. Collagen and gelatin comprise of such chemicals as may help heal the gut lining rapidly. Glutamine on the other hand, enables one in strengthening of the gut to prevent recurrence of the same disease. Drinking the broth is much easier to be digested by one with a weakened gut. Making this broth, the longtime of simmering and of cooking time provided to the bones help in breaking them down and predigest all the beneficial nutrients which enables them to be absorbed by the vbody much easily than the other nutritional supplements.

Steamed Vegies

Vegetables mostly comprise of vitamins B and thus can break down carbohydrates and fats, proteins and Vitamin D which reduces the soreness in the GI Tract. But do avoid high fiber vegies since they might not be easily digested especially when you have a leaky gut. Therefore the best thing to do here is to steam the veggies and eat them.

The beneficial bacteria present in fermented food materials are called “probiotics”. They are present in all such foods like Coconut milk, yogurt, curd, kefir milk, etc. which helps in the prevention of bad bacteria and pathogens from accruing in the Gut. Probiotics keep your gut clean and creates a favorable environment to help heal the weakened gut.

Grass Fed Meats

Eating meat, we ingest what the animal has eaten and hence it is better to eat meats of pasture raised animals like, beef, goat or lamb.
