After emerging as the winner of the national sub-junior title in the year 1986, he started playing golf as a profession. Aditi won the Laila Aicha Tour School and became the first Indian to achieve the Ladies European Tour card in 2016. Post this victory, she also became the youngest winner of a Q school for an International tour. Aditi Ashok is the first and sole Indian golfer who has played the Asian Youth Games (2013), Asian Games (2014), Youth Olympic Games (2014) and Olympic Games (2016). On achieving triumph in the 2016 Hero Women's Indian Open, Aditi became the first-ever Indian to win the Ladies European Tour title. In 2017, Aditi Ashok became the first LPGA player from India who finished eighth in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings.

The Indo-French professional golfer from India, Sharmila Nicollet is one of the top woman golfers in the country. She has represented India in the Asian Games at Doha in the year 2006, She also played in the Asia Pacific Junior Golf Tournament. In 2007-2008, Sharmila Nicollet became the youngest female golf player to win the All-India Ladies Amateur Championship.
