The Audi Q7 is a 4-door longitudinal F4 layout (Quattro) midsize luxury crossover SUV first introduced in November 2005 by Audi AG. It was the first SUV from Audi to go on sale in 2006 and at the same time, the launch of the V12 TDI diesel. The first-generation Audi Q7 Typ 4L was produced from 2005 until 2015 using the Volkswagen Group PL71 platform and the second-generation Typ 4M was released in 2015 up to the present. 


The first-generation Audi Q7 comes with petrol engines: 3.6L FSI (3.597 cc) producing 276 hp and 4.2L FSI (4,163 ccs) producing 345 hp. While the diesel engines: 3.0L TDI (2,967 cc) V6 turbo producing 230 hp, 3.0L TDI and 3.0L TDI clean diesel (2,967 cc) V6 turbo producing 237 hp, 4.2L TDI (4,134 cc) V8 turbo producing 322 hp, and 6.0L TDI CGA with V12 twin-turbo engine. All engines are mated with a 6 / 8-speed automatic or ZF 8HP transmission.

Interior and Exterior

The Audi Q7 offers a luxurious and comfortable interior with enough space for headroom and legroom. There is a seven-passenger leather seat with 50/50 split-folding and collapsible headrests in the third-row seat. While the center console, dashboard, and door panels are decorated with wooden inlays. Added with the Audi MMI Navigation plus, Audi music interface with iPod integration, Bluetooth and HomeLink system, BOSE Surround Sound system, heated front seats with memory for the driver and front passenger, and a panorama sunroof.

The exterior comes with a customized signature Audi look by the Singleframe grille with 18’’ six-spoke wheels, a full paint finish with Chrome Accent Package, power tailgate, Audi parking system, Audi-dimming interior mirror with compass, Audi Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights.


The Audi Q7 is equipped with both standard and optional features that respond actively to any crashes or road accidents for the occupants’ security and convenience which includes a standard driver and front passenger seat-mounted side thorax airbag supplement restraints as well as driver and front passenger dual-stage airbag supplemental restraints, front passenger occupant detection for airbag supplemental restraints, die guard head curtain airbags, third-row three-point safety belts with safety belt warning for driver and front passenger, front three-point safety belts, and rear second row as well as a three points safety belts. It also includes Electronic Stabilisation Program with off-road mode and rollover mitigation, an Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a central locking system with a selective unlock system, and a tire pressure monitor system.
