The as-a-Service Business Revolution

by James Robinson Professional Marketing Wizard

With advancing technologies and businesses, most people have heard of SaaS products which stands for Software as a Service. Whether or not you are aware you have probably interacting with a SaaS product today. Most popular options include services like Slack, DropBox, or Photoshop. SaaS products are leading a whole new that is opening up the EaaS (Everything As A Service) as a whole. There are lots of other solutions that are being as-a-service-ized with new and better advancements. Everything as a service is referring to services or solutions accessed over cloud computing instead of on premises.

Artificial Intelligence (AIaaS)

Artificial intelligence is almost a mythic breakthrough that few have but most every industry can benefit from. Most however don’t have the capital to be able to invest in it. Emerging AIaaS services are making more applicable and affordable for people. It would typically take a highly advanced team to make even a basic program, but we are growing past that. This allows you to log onto a type of marketplace for templated AI systems with available needed adjustments. You can trial them on your system to see if they meet your needs and then deploy it quickly and get an impactful change.

Operations as a Service (Oaas)

One of the growing sectors that is not being talked about is Operations-as-a-Service. Now if this sounds similar to general outsourcing, that is an understandable difference but there is enough difference to make this a clear distinction. Traditional outsourcing is on a project-based need. If there is a specific task or part of a task that you don’t think you will be able to accomplish in time, most companies turn to outsources and usually cheap international outsourcers. OaaS is bigger than that. It’s most common uses up to this point are HR departments, industry-specific middle offices, finance and accounting, customer service/support, and procurement. OaaS is replacing entire department at a fraction of the cost and after a learning curve, equivalent efficiency.

Information Technology as a Service (ITaas)

The IT department of any organization is always needed but with a very specific group of people who can solve the problems. This department is the ideal group to go to an as-a-service model. The team onsite largely waits around until a problem comes up, they solve it and then go back to waiting. It is usually the same few issues that come up that they solve many times over. This is why so many companies have created Intranets to solve the most commonly occurring issues. This loans itself perfectly to a managed It as a service solution
