Supplies, Equipment, and Accessories for Truckers
by Mack Allen SEO ExpertYou must be prepared for every circumstance as a Class A CDL
truck driver! That is where you must prepare ahead of time and carry the
greatest trucker tools. That light bulb that has to be changed in the middle of
the night on a trailer? You will need a flashlight. In the thick of winter, you
can't acquire traction in a parking lot? To toss down and start going again,
you'll need salt. To get you started, here's a list of trucking supplies, equipment, and accessories:
Trucking Supplies
Air Gage - This
is required to monitor the air pressure in your tyres. It's more effective than
a hammer.
Air hose - Can be
connected to a glad hand to pump up a low tyre.
Aluminum tape is
a useful tool for making rapid repairs.
Basic Ratchet and
Socket Set - This trucker tool is used to tighten loose bolts, screws, and
other nuts and bolts.
A Sharp Knife and
Black Electrical Tape - It is illogical to have one without the other.
Flat Jaw Vise Grips
- You never know when you'll need this tool and you'll simply get a grasp on
anything. If you blow a brake line, you may clamp it and back off the brake to
go someplace to have it repaired. Don't want your tandems to sag? To keep it in
position, lock the vice grips on it.
Using a hammer,
strike your brakes, tyres, or tandem pin lines.
Screwdrivers are
essential transportation gear since you never know what you may need to repair.
Try a screwdriver with interchangeable bits that switch from Philips to
Flathead.
Tire Tread Gauge
- Everyone who goes through our orientation or acceleration program receives
a little key that reads 230 PSI and automatically shuts off after 30-40 seconds
to conserve electricity.
Zip ties and
carabiners are useful for tying together air hoses and fastening trailer
doors.
Cleaning Supplies for
TRUCKER EQUIPMENT – They're useful when you don't have access to a truck
stop and need to wipe your windshield.
Hanging around
beneath a trailer with a flashlight? Have you ever broken down in the
middle of the night? A decent flashlight is essential not just for use at
night, but also for when the light is faint and you can't see what you're
working on.
Broom and Dustpan
- Cleaning out an RV without both is difficult. To take things a step further,
acquire a whisk broom (or a leaf blower if your workplace allows it!) to make
cleaning even simpler.
Additional Water, Oil, and Windshield Washer fluid - Everyone should have at least one gallon of oil, an additional jug, a washer, fluid, and coolant in their vehicle. That is very necessary. Don't leave the house without these. These are all excellent features to have in all-day taxis.
WORK GLASSES FOR
TRUCKERS - You must safeguard your hands at all times. Make certain you
choose a high-quality pair. Carry a number of pairs of gloves in your vehicle,
particularly if it's raining or cold outside. It's always a good idea to keep a
spare pair of gloves on hand, but gloves are much superior than barehanded.
Coveralls are
ideal for crawling under a vehicle or trailer without getting soiled.
Steel Toe Boots -
Look for ATSM-compliant boots with a safety toe and a gripping rubber sole.
