Now checking your PNR status has become very easy in this technology oriented world. Now you can easily check your PNR status in mobile using different ways. In traditional times, checking your PNR status was quite difficult; you have to rush to the stations to check your tickets availability, and it was very hectic job. Railways began to use the technology and started a telephone service where you can check your PNR status on a phone call. 1.       3 digit SMS- This service is started by the IRCTC to provide the PNR status on the mobile. All you have to do is just message your PNR number on a three digit number, and you will get your PNR status. The process is write PNR with PNR number without space and then sent it to 139. The only downside to this method is the message will cost you. It’s not a free service you will be charged by the service provider for the same.

2.       10 digit numbers- This method is provided by the Google, and it does not charge any money from you to check the PNR status. Write a text message as PNR space your PNR number and send it to 9773300000. This method has one negative side; you may get the status late than the 3 digit SMS service. This is still better as it is free of charge.

3.       Internet- Other method is by using internet on your mobile. You can go on the India railways site to the check PNR status. Open the website and look for the tab with option Check PNR status on it. Enter your PNR status and then press enter. You will be able to view your PNR status. You can do a number of things with the help of the internet; you can cancel the ticket or book the ticket. Internet is considered to be the best the way as it is the fastest and the most efficient way of checking you PNR status.

4.       Railway Helpline- This method is not as good as other method. You have to dial 139 using your phone, and you then follow the steps given by the interactive voice system. Waiting time can take very long or sometime the call may disconnect. This method is not very efficient and is also very time consuming.

This modern ways of checking the PNR status has made it very easy for us to keep a track of our booked ticket. Now we don't have to rush to the stations on the last minute to check whether our tickets booked or not.
