Shiv Hari creates a magical flow of music

The musical blend of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia has again come to the fore. These two musicians stand out as stalwarts from the Hindusthani classical music segment. Recently, a musical concert was organized on the shores of the Prinsep Ghat Kolkata where these two stalwarts from the music industry displayed their skills.
 
 A crowd of more than 2,800 spectators gathered on the scene and made the event a huge success.  The evening began on a great note as compere and actor Arjun Chakraborty from Tollywood read out some of the most heart warming renditions.
 
The audience waited with anticipated breath as these two musical exponents started their performance.  As the performance began the jugalbandi of Shiv and Hari gradually took centrestage. At first, the Yaman raga was played by the duo which began with a very mellifluous and steady alap. The alap slowly changed into a very harmonious rhythmic beat.

The dexterous skills of pakhwaj player Pandit Bhawani Shankar came to the forefront as he played a marvelous tune through the raga. After the jod was played, a vilambit bandish and drut bandish followed up from the two maestros. These two bandits were played on rupak and teen taal respectively. This particular Yaman raga rendition continued for a period of 90 minutes.
 
The magical musical display of the evening continued with the harmonious beats of raga Pahadi. The musical evening highly charmed the audience and the accompaniment was conducted by some of the most popular instrumentalists like Pandit Subhankar Banerjee and Takahiro Arai. Pandit Ajay Chakraborty, one of the stalwarts of Hindusthani classical music from the city praised the duo for their impeccable performance.  Mr. Sarda also paid a tribute to the musical Jodi by terming them as incarnations of God Hariji and Shivji.  The audience cherished the success of the event and made it a grand success with their presence.
