Though it did not look like good would come of it, Kaiser Carlile was fighting for his life in Wichita, Kansas in a hospital. After being accidentally struck in the head with a bat from an on deck player practicing his swing. Mike Carlile is the general manager of the Liberal Blue Jays, the team that lost one of their best batboys. He is related to Kaiser, who passed away on Sunday. In memorial of the little child, Mike decided to wear a Kansas City Royals t-shirt because the logo KC has the initials of the lost life.

The collegiate summer league club all wanted to support Kaiser’s fight for his life. They saw their manager’s shirt and immediately asked where they could get theirs. To the team, Kaiser was a teammate, friend, and a little brother that they loved. He had been with the team since the season started. Unfortunately for the team, they were greeted with the poor news after shutting out their opponent on Sunday night. Kaiser Carlile lost his fight.

Kelby Tomlinson was a former Bee Jay, who led the team to their recent championship in 2010. Now with the San Francisco Giants, Tomlinson heard about Kaiser and looked for a way to pay tribute for him. After securing his first major league hit as a rookie, Tomlinson paid tribute to the young batboy via a video on Facebook, dedicating his hit to the boy. Jeff Hill is a huge fan of the Giants and believes that the gesture that Tomlinson made is a classy move that other players should learn for the future.
