cover a certain cancer treatment, service, test, or procedure, you can file an
appeal. This gives you a second chance to get the insurance company to pay for
the service. The good news is that it's easier than you think to appeal a claim
denial, and claim denials are often reversed.
When it comes to appealing a claim denial for health care coverage, the time and work it takes may be the biggest problem. When a person is going through cancer treatment and has other worries, the process can feel overwhelming. If you are too sick to file an appeal, ask a family member, friend, or social worker for help. The people who take care of you can also help. Any extra work you have to do for your health and well-being is worth it.
When appealing a denied claim, the most
important thing to remember is not to give up, especially if the denial could
affect your treatment and health. This may be easier to say than to do, since
dealing with a denied insurance claim takes time.
