burned foodRemoving the smell of burned food should be done on time otherwise it may spread to the other rooms of your house or apartment. This may be a really annoying situation, so try to act as soon as possible and eliminate the bad odour. The good news is that after a while the smell will disappear and there are a few tricks that will help for this process. Continue reading to find out what you should do.

I will start with a simple, but efficient tip- the first thing you need to do is to open all doors and windows in the kitchen and the rooms next to it. After that you should open the nearest outside door. Open and close it a few times in order to increase the circulation of the air. This will help for the bad smell to disappear faster. Also if you have kitchen fan, it will help for our odour removing mission. Turn it on and set up a window fan to face outward as this will bring the smell and smoke outside. A freestanding fan will be also useful in eliminating the odour faster.

Now, I will show you how to use household products to remove the burned food smell. For beginning you will need a large saucepan. Put it on the stove and add one quart of water along with 2 cups of vinegar. Cleaning specialists in Highgate claim that it is a good idea to add lemon juice to the pan as it will help to minimize the strong odour of the vinegar. Instead of lemon juice you can also use lemon rinds for the same purpose.

Next step is to set the stove on high temperature and heat the vinegar until it starts to boil. At this point you should bring the mixture to a simmer. It is best to allow it to simmer for about 15 to 30 minutes. During this time keep an eye on the pan to prevent it from boiling over or boiling dry.

When the solution is ready dab several pieces of white bread with the vinegar and put them around your kitchen. This will help to absorb the smell of the burned food. As soon as the smell is completely gone remove the bread and place it in the trash bin.

In very rare occasions even after the mentioned tips the smell will still bother you. So, if this happens to you, it is best to refer to professional cleaners.
