Reasons Of Cracks In Aluminum Profiles And Solutions

Cracks in aluminum profiles (aluminium tile trim, stair nosing, carpet trim) are mainly caused by tensile stress when the profile is extruded and has a different degree of surface formation on the surface. The main reasons for this problem are mainly as follow:

1. Extrusion temperature is too high, the metal surface tensile strength decreased, under the action of friction cracks.

2. Due to the friction of the metal surface by the additional tensile stress, when the additional tensile stress is greater than the tensile strength of the surface metal will produce cracks.

3. When the extrusion speed is too fast, the additional tensile stress on the metal surface causes the profile to crack.
