Biotechnology is the stream which helps in solving many issues associated with crop improvement, medicinal compound production ,nutrceuticals etc raised the importance of biotechnology in present times. So colleges all over the world are beginning to offer multiple degree courses in Biotechnology. Talking of India, Himachal Pradesh is a desirable place for many biotech industries since it not only provides easy availability of natural resources but also an amiable environment and better government support and subsidies for the same. Those who aspires for doing M tech in biotechnology ,JUIT is one of the Ugc Approved Universities In Himachal Pradesh which offers M Tech Biotechnology to GATE qualified candidates and also conducted internal entrance test for selecting students of high caliber and providing open opportunity to all. Highlights of the departmental of Biotechnology and bioinformatics include good and advance curriculum, big contribution of research publications of departmental faculties,NBA Accreditation of courses and good placement with high percentage of students in overseas universities for advance training and courses. So without any hesitation JUIT can be designated as good M Tech Biotechnology colleges in India and JUIT is UGC approved universities in Himachal Pradesh also which has Governor of HP as chancellor . Department also offers MSc. Biotechnology in which 10 seats are allocated through DBT GAT B funding support and 20 seats are allocated on the basis of merit . Students are provided with good lab facilities and faculty coordinator as mentors for guiding them for MSc research projects in their defined areas of specialization like plant biotechnology, molecular biotechnology,industrial biotechnology etc.

Many biotechnology colleges in Himachal Pradesh provides Bachelor in science with vocational course in Biotechnology as in some Govt colleges of the state and in IIT Mandi runs program of M.Tech in Biotechnology. Although the number of Biotechnology colleges in Himachal Pradesh offering B.Tech is very limited, but the fact that JUIT has far excellence according to us because of having large number of Govt. grants and funding for developing well equipped labs for pursuing skill course of biotechnology and others also.

There are many parameters to identify a college which provides best education with specificity in deliverance and to find many patents filed,published and finally get it granted from govt of India. So Jaypee University of Information Technology has 11 granted patents in its credit out of which 10 are with the department of BT and BI , so it can very well be said that the department of Biotechnology and bioinformatics is working consistently and vigorously to develop new and innovative technologies since the university has been granted 11 patents as of now out of which 10 are from the department of BT-BI.

Department has well equipped labs for handling all concerned experimentation ,so that students got skilled in doing good amount of research.JUIT is enabled with wi fi campus, digital and latest modes of teachings and leanings. The campus has ~ 70-80% residential students so all facilities including gyms,indoor and outdoor sports facilties, tuck shops, cafeterias’, stationary shops etc for providing all facilitations to students for their smooth life.
