Perfect Time for Visiting Digha

Digha is often regarded as the “escapist’s destination” on grounds of being the perfect weekend getaway for the people of West Bengal. Tourists flock up at this enticing beach town during winters. The ideal time for hitting the beaches at Digha is October to February. Along with the beaches, the tour will remain incomplete, if the aquariums and gardens are not covered, and October to February duration is the most comfortable time for a round visit. 

Autumn is even the major celebration season for Durga Puja in the entire Bengal. While Digha experiences hot and uncomfortable summers with temperatures going above 37C, the place is less crowded. Nevertheless, if you are bent-upon on going on a trip, then of course Digha is the best option. 

On the other hand, monsoon rains of July prevent visits to the beaches and amusement parks, and travelling to the wonderful town becomes inconvenient due to the high humidity level.

Starting from March, the temperature rises to 38C, thus giving hot and humid summers to Digha. Indeed the ideal time for visiting Digha is between October to February owing to the pleasant weather. The time is extremely inviting for water sports like scuba diving, skiing and more, time at beaches, and definitely shopping at local shops. All you need to do is book a hotel in advance since, during the winters, the tourist rush is much higher.  But be assured, the crowded beaches will never affect their serenity. While staying at the beaches during the day, you can stroll the beaches at night feeling the loving wind touching your face.  Durga Puja is even celebrated in Digha with equal auspiciousness as in Bengal, and the vibrant beaches look grand to welcome tourists at this time. 

During Christmas and New Year, beach parties are organized which makes December and January the best time for visiting Digha. Do not forget to book a hotel room in advance if you have planned to visit Digha during this period. Crowds are comparatively more this time as the tourists prefer winters.
