NEET 2016, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test after much opposition from the state governments will now be held on 24 July 2016.  The Phase 1 of the examination has already been conducted on 1 May 2016. The President of India, Mr Pranab Mukherjee signed an ordinance on Phase 2 of the NEET examination. This ordinance gives the relaxation to either opt in or opt out of the NEET examination. The Central Board of Secondary Education is the exam conducting authority for the NEET examination.

NEET 2016 Eligibility Criteria: In order to appear for the Phase 2 of the NEET 2016 examination, candidates should be Indian and Overseas Citizens of India. The candidates should not be older than 25 years of age and not younger than 17 years as on 31 December 2016. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years. Further, the candidates who did not register for NEET 1 or appeared for NEET 1 are also eligible to apply for the NEET 2.

NEET 2016 Application Form: CBSE has opened the registration form for the Phase 2 examination form 26 May 2016. The mode of the examination is online one and candidates should read the eligibility criteria carefully before filling the application form.  The NEET 2016 application form process will continue in 4 stages starting from registration, image uploading, fee payment and last, taking the confirmation page printout.

NEET 2016 Admit Card: CBSE will publish the admit card for the NEET Phase 2 examination on 8 July 2016. The candidates admit card will consist of candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, category, exam date , details of exam centre and time.

NEET 2016 Exam Pattern: The Pen and paper based examination will be held for a duration of 3 hours. The papers language will either be English or Hindi. The paper will consist of 180 MCQs questions with 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany.

NEET 2016 Result:  Candidates will be able to view their NEET 2016 Result on 17 August 2016. The result will contain the list of the candidates who have qualified the Phase 2 examination.  In order to qualify the examination, candidates will have to score more than the cutoff marks i.e. 50% for general category.

NEET 2016 Counselling: The candidates will be allotted seats to various MBBS and BDS programs under 15% All India Quota after successfully qualifying the NEET 2016 examination. The counselling process will be conducted in online mode in the month of August/September.
