Mohs Surgery

by Mohs Tek Mohstek provide specialist cancer histopathology e
Mohs surgery is considered the most effective technique for treating many basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs), the two most common types of skin cancer. Sometimes called microscopic Mohs surgery, the procedure is performed in stages, including laboratory work while the patient waits. This allows for the removal of all cancer cells for the highest cure rate while sparing healthy tissue and leaving the smallest possible scar.

Mohs surgery is performed by doctors who are specially trained to do three things:

- as the surgeon removes the cancerous tissue
- as a pathologist who analyzes the laboratory samples
- then the surgeon closes or reconstructs the wound

Efficient, inexpensive treatment
- Outpatient surgery in one session
- Local anesthesia
- Laboratory work carried out on site

Precise results
- The physician examines 100% of tumor margins
- Protects healthy tissue
- Leaves the smallest possible scar

The highest healing rate
- Up to 99% of previously untreated skin cancers
- Up to 94% of skin cancers that have come back after previous treatment
