by Maria Williams Technical Supporter

Microsoft has recently launched Windows 10 Insider Preview that will display a number of new features and changes. The Company chooses Windows Blog platform to post the details about the introducing the newer version.

As per the post, the newly launched Windows 10 with the version number 17666 will display the changes which Microsoft has planned to introduce with Redstone 5.

Cloud Clipboard

The introduction of a cloud clipboard is considered to be the one among the brilliant changes made in this version. The Microsoft Company has included, keeping in mind the users use while accessing the same text snippets innumerable times during the regular work days.

The Microsoft Company has introduced Win (Windows) key and V combination, replacing the use of the Ctrl (Control) key and C or the Ctrl and the V key combinations that have already been assigned for the regular copying and pasting. When the user goes for selecting this, Windows then showcases the user with its ‘brand-new clipboard experience’.

Similar to the Windows Timeline or Sets function, Microsoft Company has pointed out that the users can access this particular clipboard across any Windows- PC, which runs this version of Windows or higher.

The users can paste anything from the clipboard history and also pin the important items which they often need to paste. Also, they can modify by enabling or changing the settings, under the ‘Clipboard’ setting in the System settings.

The Microsoft Company has pointed out that the ‘roamed text’ in the new clipboard experience will only support the content which is less than 100kb at the time of writing. The post from the Microsoft update also points out that the clipboard history only supports in plain text, HTML, and the images will be less than 1 MB in size.

Dark theme for Windows File Explorer

This feature for Windows File Explorer is considered to be one of the top-most requested features for Windows Insider users and it seems like Microsoft following the feedbacks.

The Microsoft Company has finally added support system for the dark theme in the File Explorer- the context menu that is present in the Explorer and the other Common File Dialogue such as the dialogue boxes which display when we wanted to open the file or save a file.

One thing to note that it seems the company couldn’t able to complete the dark mode implementation properly in the build that is rising. Moreover, it has issued a warning that the users may see ‘some unexpected light colors’ in the Explorer and Common File Dialogue. The screenshot which the Company has shared recently is from the latest code which they have fixed.

Modify to ‘Sets’

Microsoft Company also introduces some modification to ‘Sets’ by bringing acrylic little bar, while adjusting the Window border to grey color as well as for the betterment of the users if they wanted to open the new apps and the websites in a new tab or window, then by adding the recent MS-Edge tab in the Alt +Tab mode.

Microsoft Company is giving the users the option to feedback to the present behavior. The users can also go for muting any of the web tabs with a click of a button on the volume icon. This will avoid the users to switch to the tab and look for the video or advertisement which is responsible for the tab. Tabs have been improved so far, to use no resources in the background unless the user switches on them.
