It was 39 degree Celsius outside. Something bright and pinkish entered through the university’s gate and I was reminded of Steven Tyler’s words, “You would be surprised how expensive it costs to look this cheap.”  It was a guy wearing a shocking pink t-shirt that was fitted to his body and yes, it was bleeding sweat! He just murdered the whole concept of wearing men's clothing especially a t-shirt in summers.

At that very moment, I realized that it’s time we get serious about our tees guys.
I know that buying something off a branded store means that you’re buying quality stuff but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s going to look great on you as well. There are certain things which must be considered while buying a classic t-shirt, so that you don’t end up buying a shirt that either looks like a tent or a swimsuit!

First things first while purchasing men's clothing especially t-shirts, do not pick up shirts in a bulk. Always make sure that each of them is your size (shirts made of elastic material differ from cotton t-shirts and so their sizes are different). To see if the shirt fits you perfectly, check if the seams where the sleeves attach to the shirt are lining up directly over the edge of your shoulder or not. If they’re half-way between your shoulder and the neck then the shirt is too short, and if they’re dangling down the shoulder then I’m afraid it’s a tent; you can spend your gloomy days in there but don’t you dare wear that thing out in public.

Then you have different fits and necklines to choose from. You can either have a shirt that slightly hugs your torso or maybe one that fits loosely over it. If you’re going out to exercise, a tighter one is a good choice, as it keeps in place while you’re exercising. Also, try not to buy low V-neck shirts if you’re skinny. And stay away from low round necks if you’re roundish yourself. Polo Shirts in Pakistan are also very popular and everyone prefers to use polo shirts.

A Perfect T-Shirt has 4 Characteristics:

  • It doesn’t end up at the top of your hip (at your waist that is).
  • A short-sleeved t-shirt should be able to cover only half of your upper arm.
  • Should allow your skin to breathe. If you want to flaunt your upper body, you might as well go out shirtless.
  • Should have a masculine touch to it! Pick shades of blue, grey, black or white if you can.

In Pakistan, you can choose from a variety of t-shirts available in the market. From long sleeves, and tank tops to muscle, you can find all sorts of t-shirts at quite a reasonable price. Still if you do not find something you’re looking for then you can always get your t-shirt customized. A number of Pakistani e-stores like PakStyle.pk offer you variety of customized graphic t-shirts online for as low as Rs.450 per shirt and they can print the logo of your desired brand on high quality t-shirts available in 7 different colors. What more can you ask for?
