Perfume – a combo of aromatic compounds or essential oils and solvents that has been used by men and women throughout the history. They were manufactured by using simple natural ingredients like flowers, herbs and spices by the Early Romans and Greeks. They’re made on a much larger scale now, and so the fragrances are mostly synthesized artificially (yes, a lot of chemistry happens in there nowadays).

Like me, you wouldn’t be surprised to know that the Arabs were among the pioneers of perfume-making and they have not yet given up their natural eccentric fragrances for the modern version of fragrances which are commonly available in the market these days. In fact, Arabian Oud managed to land at the 11th place among global premium fragrances (2012). Now how cool is that!

Though people find them a bit expensive then the regular alcohol-based perfumes, I say, the Arabian Perfumes are worth spending a fortune for (though a little bottle 3 – 6 mL lasts for days). Since they are oil-based and highly concentrated, thus less application is required as compared to colognes. In such horrid weather conditions, these perfumes are seriously no less than a blessing. They work perfectly in covering the bad odor of one’s body while allowing him to save some bucks in the process.

Other than that, Arabic Perfumes act as great scented moisturizers. You can use the perfume anywhere on your skin – they have NO REACTIONS or side effects as all the ingredients used are obtained naturally. Plus they contain therapeutic properties which are actually contained by the essential oils used in the manufacturing of these perfumes. These therapeutic properties have the most amazing effects which include the release of stress and rejuvenation of the mind and senses.

Unlike most alcohol-based perfumes, Arabic Perfumes in Pakistan are quite overpowering. Their fragrance hits the nose within milliseconds. So, for those who do not like strong scents, diluted combinations of these fragrances are also available in which coconut or olive oil is used as diluting agent.

Don’t you just hate the burning effect of your aftershave on freshly shaven face! Well, say no more! The Arabic perfumes serve as a great, gentle substitute to the ‘not so gentle’ aftershave. Aftershaves contain alcohol and various other chemicals which are not very friendly to your skin (yes, get rid of it ASAP!).

With the increased popularity of their fragrances, the Arabian perfume industry sees its success chart going straight up and many Arabian Perfumes emerged such as Ajmal Perfumes, Rasasi Perfumes, Maryaj Perfumes, Swiss Arabian Perfumes and many more. And with more than 400 varieties and combinations to choose from, (i.e. from Common Rose to Oud) you can experiment with more than a single type of fragrance at time without going broke! Men usually go for scents of vanilla, black pepper or sandalwood which are more exotic as well as refreshing. I personally adore my dad’s Oud Blend (2500 PKR for 100mL bottle). He got off an online scent store and loves it!

Still sitting there? Get up and get out there to hunt your new favorite scent! Happy Scenting! ;)
