Maintain the Fridge in the Summer

by Web Digital Media Group Web Digital Media Group

The refrigerator works twice in the summer to maintain the temperature and eliminate the extra moisture that accumulates inside due to higher temperatures and increased condensation. So it's no surprise to know that summer is the time of greatest insitity for refrigerator repair calls.

The refrigerator will last, on average, around sixteen. However, those that are properly maintained can last much longer. A low maintenance refrigerator is the type that could stop working without warning, leaving the house and the operator in a not-so-convenient position. Fortunately, the maintenance of the refrigerator is quite easy for DIY.

A good idea is to do the following maintenance activity:

 1. Check the temperature : This probably sounds obvious, but many people set the temperature when they initially buy the refrigerator and then do not think about it anymore. This is not good because there are variables that influence the internal temperature, such as room temperature and humidity, the frequency of opening the door and if the compressor is clean. Use a thermometer to check the temperature regularly. If it is variable this could indicate a problem.

2. Clean, Cleaning, Puli King : The refrigerator can be a breeding ground for bacteria and germs, so clean it regularly. This means removing all food and washing trays and shelves. It is important to check dates on jars and bottles and throw away what is as old as the world. Use white ace and baking soda because they are environmentally friendly and help you keep the interior shiny and new. Make a point to clean the door seal with white vinegar. This keeps the seal clean and new.

3. Replace the water filter: If the refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker or a water dispenser then it probably also has a water filter. This must be changed regularly. It is a good idea to replace the filter every six months. Or check the owner's manual to see what they suggest. Why is this so important? Well, consider that the water extracted through a dirty filter is often dirtier than before it has been filtered.

4. Clean the coil: In general, a refrigerator that does not cools properly has a dirty condenser coil. That makes the refrigerator work more, which in turn generates the highest energy bills. The work of the condenser coil is to dissipate the heat from your refrigerator. If it is not clean, the refrigerator can not "breathe". When a refrigerator can not breathe, it loses its effectiveness. Dirty compressor coils are the most common cause of hot fridges in the summer. Clean the compressor coil regularly with compressed air and a brush.

5. Clean the drain hole and the basin: Some people do not realize that there is a dripstone at the bottom of most fridges. It is there to eliminate condensation, but it also ends up collecting loose particles of food and remains of leaky containers. Remove it regularly and clean it in the sink.
