LATEST POLITICAL NEWS HEADLINES IN INDIA - AFRICANS GETTING ATTACKED BY INDIANS
It’s very shameful and at the same time unfortunate as well that we are a part of society who talks about equality but ironically equally opposite to what it talks about. No wonder why beauty products dominate the Indian market. We Indians are obsessed with colour and believe it or not this obsession ultimately gives birth to racism which is nothing less than a curse to human mankind. Well, even though it’s a disease spread all over the world and is not exclusively to India only, but still it will not be wrong to say that we discriminate on colour.
We have witnessed in Indian politics that even after the trends emerging in Indian politics few things remain the same. Vote banks are cared properly but remaining matters remain icy cold. Recently we came to know about the murder of a 29 year old Congolese national, Masonda Ketada Oliver who was beaten to death following an argument in Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi. This serious racist attack was followed by another attack where a Nigerian student was hit by a rod on head and deeply injured for parking his vehicle in front of someone’s house in Banjara hills area of Hyderabad. Next incident took place in Rajpur khurd village of Chhatarpur, South Delhi where 4 African nationals were attacked again.
Indian politics news showed that this time the Government took quick actions. External affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj showed concerns over safety of African Nationals and spoke to Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the matter. She also urged the Delhi Police to take strict actions after which police arrested 4 people who were assaulting the African Nationals. Police patrolling in sensitive areas have been increased to ensure security of everyone.
On one side where Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh were seen taking the matter very seriously, Union Minister V K Singh called these incidents a minor scuffle blown up by media and instead of targeting the culprits, he targeted the media and raised questions on their motive. He also directed the citizens of India to ask questions from media on why they are blowing up a minor issue. These statements caused huge controversy over social media.
Latest indian political news headlines covered the news of Africans planning to Boycott the Africa Day Celebrations but soon backed off as they were ensured security by the Government. These racial attacks only put an ugly image of our country but also invite attacks on the Indian people happily living in African countries.
